Google IO event shortlisted issues and discussed them in detail. One of the main agendas that were brought to limelight was related to “Security and Privacy”. In the presentation which happened on the 7th of May 2019, Google’s Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai took nearly two hours to discuss Google Assistant, search on Google, and Android hardware products.
In the “Security and Privacy” section, Pichai said that Google has announced a new feature which is all about the security of the user. According to him, the user can now control and maintain information from the location of the web. Same could be done in the applications’ activity.
He further said that Google has become more user-friendly and has stricter privacy and security settings. Google is going to keep the data secured for one and a half year (precisely 18 months). After that, the data stored will automatically be removed from the data that was searched or saved.
Also, in association with this, Pichai stated that Google has made things undoubtedly more secured as compared to olden days. Privacy settings will be found under new photos (of profiles) which will be shown in Google’s applications. Users will also be able to check how Google saves and deletes data. Last but not least, Google users will also be allowed to stop collecting date if they want.
In the Google IO event, Pichai also stated that searching on Google needs some serious changes. Now, in 2019 people will be able to get complete results and “full coverage” of the topics searched. However, this particular feature will be applied to news-related issues.
Pichai furthermore added that Google will augment “reality feature” to the searches. People will be seeing a 3D model of images in the “real world scenarios”. This feature will entail charisma to the understanding and comprehension abilities.
